How this all started…
So it’s true, the Sample family is going to Africa. An incredible opportunity has come our way and we have decided that there is no time like the present.
Over the past few years we have repeatedly heard about the Light of Hope Orphanage in Kenya. This very special organization has come into our lives so many times and in so many ways. Our dear friends, the Ross family, are currently on a journey across Europe that will end in Africa. They are going to Kenya to support and work at the Light of Hope. When we asked what we could do and how we could help, they said “meet us there.” As a family, we decided that this is something that we should do. We believe that things happen for a reason and that we are being called to this journey.
We will depart on July 6th. Our travels will include the Masai Mara Reserve, Nairobi and Naivasha. We expect to work hard and to do whatever needs to be done at the school and the orphanage. We also hope to gain perspective and to learn many life lessons along the way. We will be back on July 19th.
In an attempt to keep family and friends up to date we have set up this blog/site to share our journey and our learnings. We are looking forward to sharing some incredible stories and photos along the way. Stay tuned…
